My
current work redefines the surface of the canvas by incorporating
different pieces of fabric that are constructed into patterns. The
assemblage expresses actual lines that interact with gestures of
color and expressive brush strokes within the composition as well
as creating a sculptural feeling to the surface. While these actual
lines create a harmonized division within the overall structure
and size of a particular painting, I'm exploring the unification
of various lines as separate elements within the composition by
experimenting with nontraditional techniques and creating tools
to maneuver the lines and the paint.
